    Description:

    • Full-Time: 4-(10) hour shifts OR 5-(8) hour shifts

    • Reporting to the Nursing Director of Dialysis

    • The Dialysis Nurse Educator position is responsible for: Designing, implementing and evaluating patient-specific (dialysis) and population-based programs of care. Leadership in advancing the practice of nephrology nursing. Providing clinical teaching and supervision to all Dialysis Unit Staff. Directing and providing staff development, including training, testing, and orientation.

    Responsibilities:

    • The Dialysis Education Coordinator provides clinical support to a defined patient population/area, demonstrating a high level of proficiency in the management of difficult and complex patient care issues.

    • Knowledge of all applicable regulations governing End Stage Renal Disease and Dialysis (ESRD) with proven success in managing and improving ESRD clinical outcome

    • The clinician collaborates with other health care providers to manage, support, and coordinate the care of acute and critically ill patients.

    • Designs, implements, and evaluates both patient-specific and population-based programs of care. The clinician provides leadership in advancing the practice of nursing to achieve quality and cost-effective patient outcomes as well as provide leadership of multidisciplinary groups in designing and implementing innovative alternative solutions that address system problems and/or patient care issues.

    • Perform additional duties as assigned

    What you will need:

    • Current RN licensure in Maryland

    • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing; Master's degree preferred

    • Minimum five (5) years related clinical experience

    • National certification in clinical specialty required (Nephrology); OR must be willing to obtain within 6 months of hire

    • AHA BLS required

    • Teaching experience preferred
