As a Team Manager for our Financial Consultant Academy, you will be leading a cohort of future Financial Consultants and helping cultivate the launch of their careers with Schwab before joining a branch location.
Our Schwab Financial Consultant Academy program prepares high-performing individuals for a Financial Consultant career in one of our branches. We are currently hiring for our upcoming 2018 Academy classes, which will allow participants to achieve the following:
Gain a valuable head start to your career
Study and pass FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses
Develop the unique skill of providing world-class service to clients over the phone while building market expertise in preparation for building individual client relationships
Learn from a variety of mentors, coaches and leaders that are focused on you and your career
We need leaders who are invested in the development and support of our future Financial Consultants throughout this program. Successful Academy graduates will be offered a position within a Schwab branch as an Associate Financial Consultant (OR) a Financial Consultant Partner, for an additional 18 â€“ 24 months, prior to landing in your career as a Financial Consultant.
What youâ€™ll do:
As a Team Manager for our Financial Consultant Academy, you will help our future Financial Consultants build foundational industry knowledge, while inspiring them to understand the value of relationships and empowering confidence through exceptional service.
As a Team Manager for our Financial Consultant Academy, you will lead a team of 12 representatives who will begin their journey in the securities industry as part of a service center team.
Build your teamâ€™s market expertise and Schwab product knowledge.
Develop team members through coaching, career development mentoring, and motivational techniques.
Develop team membersâ€™ ability to conduct consultative skills through a needs-based process to proactively introduce helpful and relevant product solutions to clients.
Effectively recognize strategic business opportunities and seize them.
Work collaboratively with other leaders, coaches, and mentors to help ensure our Financial Consultant Academy cohorts remain focused on developing excellent client relationships and furthering their career development
What you have:
We place a premium on high performance, quality service and the ability to execute the Schwab strategy. Essential skills include:
Active FINRA Series 7 & 63 licenses - Required
Active FINRA Series 8, or 9 &10 licenses - can be obtained as a condition of employment after starting in the role
Thorough knowledge of brokerage/financial services industry with a minimum of three years prior experience (required), including business development and trading operations (preferred)
At least one year supervisory/management experience required with two years preferred
Demonstrated passion for providing client-centric solutions
Positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism and strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to influence and build consensus as well as proven presentation skills
Demonstrated skill in leadership, team/employee motivation, and employee coaching
Proven experience working collaboratively, improving productivity, and implementing ideas
Ability to work a flexible shift, which may include early morning hours, late night hours, or weekend hours
In addition, ideal candidates will have:
Bachelorâ€™s degree or equivalent work experience required
Prior experience with staffing and workforce management
Additional management or leadership training
Prior experience in a sales/consulting role or sales coaching experience
