    The Semel Institute is seeking to hire a part time Student 2 to complete the duties of Student Assistant working on research studies examining the interrelationships between behavior and immunity. The Cousins Center for Psychoneuroimmunology, in the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, is seeking an enthusiastic self-starter to assist in interviewing subject participants by Phone. You will work under the supervision of Senior Project Coordinators, PI and the Director of the Cousins Center.

    In this role you will

    • Implement a specific screening script and will be asked to read this script to conduct all interviews.

    • Complete calls following clearly detailed and established procedures; neither originality nor improvisation is desired.

    • Assemble letters and envelopes for mass mailing to recruit subjects.

    • Assist with miscellaneous research released task: data entry, preparing paperwork for participant visits, filing paperwork related to participant visits, backing up computer files following participant visits, organizing files, posting flyers, escorting participants from one location to another (e.g., from the Clinical and Translational Research Center to CCN for neuroimaging).

    • Administer standardized phone call follow-ups with participants using a brief established questionnaire.

    • Label materials for participant visits.

    *Must be a current UCLA Student. This position will require ON-CAMPUS work and remote employment is not possible.

    Pay Range: $16.50 - $27.00 hourlyQualifications

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Demonstrated ability to exercise good organization and work habits required.

    • Computer skills to perform data entry using a PC required. Computer literacy is a must.

    • Ability to shift priorities and adapt to change required.

    • Ability to work independently and to take direction required.

    • Skill in writing legible, concise and grammatically correct documentation in Standard English required.

    • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively over the phone.

    • Must be a current UCLA Student.
