    Education Practice Area:

      PCG’s Education Consulting service line seeks a Science Curriculum Leader (Grades K - 5) for a highly complex and exciting Science curriculum development project

      The project providesa motivated person with a career opportunity to support Educators and Students in actualizing the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and to be responsive to stakeholder feedback on the resources available in Texas Home Learning

      The Science Curriculum Leader (Grades K - 5) will manage the road mapping process, as well as oversee teams through a rapid content development process to ensure the overall coherence of the K–5 Science curriculum

      The position is remote,with occasional in-person meeting

    Specific Responsibilities:

      In coordination with our vendor partner(s), lead the development of a gradesK–5Science curriculum, including program-level, course-level, unit-level, and lesson-level material

      Contribute to the collection and analysis of stakeholder feedback to inform the development of the product roadmap

      Contribute to the development and refinement of instructional and technical specifications and oversee adherence to the specifications that will be documented in the product roadmap

      In coordination with our vendor partner(s), provide leadership for the writing teams in the implementation of instructional and technical specifications, as well as overall quality assurance. This may include offering review and actionable feedback, both written and verbal, to teams about content

      Ensure on-time delivery of deliverables by writing team

      Work closely with vendor partner(s) and project leadership in a rapid development process, including coordinating workflow where their involvement is required and engaging them in quality assurance to ensure alignment to the review rubrics provided by the client

      Collaborate with project team to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of the Science curriculum (K–5)

      Collaborate with project management team to ensure that established project management processes and structures are appropriately implemented

      Availability during regular work week, with some night or weekend work as needed

      Commitment for the duration of the project withanticipated project completion in October 2024with the opportunityfor future work project assignments



      Master's Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, and additional academic rewards

      Experience teaching diverse learners inelementaryclassroom(s), including English Language Learners and students with disabilities

      3+ years of team leadership experience

      Experience developing curricular resourcesfor use by other teachers

      Experience with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and STAAR Assessments

      Familiarity with phenomenon-based science instruction

      Experience with digital learning instructional design (Preferred but not required)

      Demonstrated expertise in MS Office products, particularly PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Word

      Proficient with Office 365 and the Google Suite

      Able to work with a diverse range of people

      Knowledgeable about Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and STAAR Assessments

      Knowledgeable about translation (i.e., expressing Spanish content in English), transadaptation (i.e., when expressing English content in Spanish, adapting a concept to be authentic to Spanish), and transcreation (approach that keeps a unit topic/theme, as well as the reading and writing skills, but changes the texts studied and lesson activities to study authentic Spanish texts
