    The Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs is seeking qualified applicants for a post-doctoral position to work on an NIAAA funded project focused on the development and evaluation of an online, family-based dating violence and alcohol use prevention program for LGBTQIA2S+ youth and their caregivers. The fellow will work with Dr. Heather Littleton conducting research-related activities in support of the project, which includes providing day-to-day research and clinical trials management support, data management, and supervising graduate and undergraduate research assistants and program facilitators. Other duties include conducting program facilitation, eligibility interviews, and exit interviews, and assisting participants with finding additional mental health resources as necessary. Opportunities for serving as primary author or co-author on scholarly manuscripts will be available. This is a two-year fellowship opportunity.

    The Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience, established in 2020 with an $8 million challenge grant, is committed to advancing knowledge of human resilience to adversity by designing evidence-based solutions through three primary components, 1) basic and clinical research, 2) healing clinics and innovative models of care, and 3) community and training empowerment.     Job Duties:

    • Project coordination and clinical trials management

    • Data management.

    • Scientific writing and dissemination of research findings to professional audiences.

    • Provision of supervision for undergraduate and graduate research assistants as well as program facilitators.

    • Intervention refinement and development.

    Job Competencies:

    • Strong research background in a social science field.

    Work Location: On-site

    This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

    What We Offer:

    Salary Range : Generally starting at $53,000 - $57,000

    The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

    This position is dependent on the availability of external gift funding. Funding is currently expected to last two years.

    Tentative Search Timeline:

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Ph.D. in Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Social Work or related field.

    • Experience designing and conducting research and writing reports/articles (as described in your application materials).

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Experience assisting with clinical trials management .

    • Research experience with LGBTQ+ populations, interpersonal violence prevention and intervention, and/or substance use prevention and intervention.

    • Experience in youth and/or caregiver interventions. .

    Physical Requirements:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. Employee is occasionally required to move. Tasks may involve looking at computer screen continuously for long periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
