  • The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of cardiometabolic consequences of insufficient sleep and social and environmental factors that influence

    sleep and clinical training and experience with CBT-I and other Behavioral Sleep Medicine interventions.

    Additional experience and skills with neuropsychology, epidemiology, statistics and science writing, and

    objective assessment of sleep (PSG and actigraphy) are preferred. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Candidate should be a licensed psychiatrist or be license eligible in PA. Certification in Behavioral Sleep Medicine preferred.

    Responsibilities may include engaging in PI initiated and collaborative grants, first authoring and co-authoring papers, chapters, and books. The core of the position is planning and conducting BSM clinical research science and co-orchestrating our BSM/CBT-I training programs. This work also entails the supervision of doctoral students, medical residents, externs, interns, and doctoral fellows. These roles are complimented with direct patient care.

    The successful applicant will have an opportunity to collaborate on grants, grants management, project management, data management, data analyses, and graphic design with investigators within the division.
