    Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) is a division of the Johns Hopkins University's Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. As part of the nation's first research university, AAP offers high-quality STEM-certified master's degrees at its Washington, D.C., Center, at JHU's Homewood Campus in Baltimore, Maryland, and online. AAP distinguishes itself through its intensive instructional assistance, selective admissions, and 60 dedicated full-time faculty. Tenured Krieger School faculty members serve as program chairs to oversee the academic rigor of AAP's graduate offerings.     Advanced Academic Programs

    The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) division seeks non-tenure-track full-time faculty to teach courses and provide administrative support within the Applied Economics and Financial Economics program. Of particular interest are candidates who have experience teaching in-person as well as asynchronous online courses, working with part-time graduate students, and engaging students from diverse backgrounds. Candidates who are available to teach in-person classes are preferred.

    The Program Coordinator position is a full-time, non-tenure-track, 12-month, renewable faculty position with the academic title of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. The Program Coordinator will have significant interaction/collaboration with the Program Director, Associate Program Director, and other Program Coordinators; and will report to the Program Directors for Applied and Financial Economics. Of particular interest are candidates who have experience teaching and engaging students from diverse backgrounds.

    Faculty Responsibilities

    • Teach (in-person and online) 6 graduate courses per year

    • Advise students from diverse backgrounds

    • Providing innovative leadership for curriculum design and new course development

    • Participating in course and program assessment activities

    • University service

    Administrative Responsibilities

    • Participate in adjunct faculty hiring, development, and mentoring

    • Assist in the admissions process

    • Assist in the planning of onsite and/or remote events and/or seminars

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in economics or finance

    • 1-3 years of online and/or graduate-level teaching experience

    • The ability to teach a wide variety of economics courses

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Ph.D. in economics or finance

    • 4 or more years of online and/or graduate-level teaching experience

    • 1-3 years of economics-related work experience, for example, government service or serving as a consultant with companies or for the government

    • Strong organizational skills

    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with competing demands and multiple deadlines

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    • Experience in helping manage a degree or certificate program

    Candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S. The position will remain open until filled; the start date is expected on July 1, 2024. Candidates must submit the following:
