JOB DESCRIPTION:
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct, report and present research in his/her field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This is a training position with the possibility of extension depending on funding and performance evaluation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Plan and perform experiments independently, with assistance of the PI
Prepare lab reports weekly and draft the progress report every three months
Writes protocol, including optimization procedures
Interacts with graduate students, if necessary, provide technical guidance
Capable of presenting data at meeting, conferences etc.
Performs related duties as assigned, including routine weekly duty in the regular and high containment laboratory
Assist with ordering and procurement of supplies and equipment and with general maintenance of laboratory.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D., M.D. or Doctoral equivalent in the field of cellular/molecular biology, immunology and/or microbiology or related fields.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to perform experiments with bench skills
Ability to observe and record experiments/research and report accurately
Ability to organize the experimental results and drafting manuscript
Mentoring and teaching experimental skills for graduate students
Presentation skills
Technical expertise in molecular biology and immunology, including immunoprecipitation, PCR, immunoblotting, ELISA and/or flow cytometric analysis, are preferred.
Other research experience including cell culture and animal handling are preferred.
Working experience in BSL3 would be an additional competency.
