    The Division of Nephrology at the MetroHealth System, an affiliate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine (CWRU), is recruiting faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We are seeking outstanding candidates who have demonstrated records of significant accomplishment as clinical nephrologists, with aspiration for scholarly, service and/or administrative development. The successful candidate should have an MD degree and training at reputable, ACGME-accredited internal medicine and renal fellowship programs. Candidates will also have an opportunity to provide inpatient and outpatient care at MetroHealth Medical Center, the area's most experienced and busiest Level I trauma center. The appointment will be at MetroHealth System and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.

    Applicants should possess excellent interpersonal, clinical and teaching skills, and should be board eligible or certified and eligible for licensure in the state of Ohio.

    As the Nephrology Educator for medical students, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the renal curriculum at CWRU School of Medicine. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    · Create and teach content for renal physiology and pathophysiology for first-year medical students .

    · Review and update content, lecture slides and text references annually .

    · Write and revise cases for students' small-group discussion sessions .

    · Meet with (non-renal) facilitators of small groups to prep for cases and receive feedback after each case is discussed .

    · Design and teach class review sessions and "summary and integration" sessions.

    · Assist with coordination and facilitation of clinical activities in Clinical Immersion Week and participate in multidisciplinary case discussion.

    · Be accessible for answering questions after each lecture and review session; answer questions posted on the class virtual discussion board and reply to individual e-mails from student; provide office hours as needed.

    · Help create annual final exam; discuss and write/revise multidisciplinary cases for the exam, and grade all renal questions (short essay format).

    · Attend curriculum design meetings with cardiology, pulmonary, renal, and cell physiology faculty.

    Resources will be available to support this position in medical education and the faculty member's continued development.
