Non-Seniority List Instructor:
Part time position as non-seniority list instructor teaching in both Flight Training Devices and Simulators for the Delta Flight Training department and the Delta Part 142 Aircrew Training Center.Length of Service:
The position is for a 3-year term (extensions subject to employer review)
Performance Reviews
NSLI will be subject to annual, random and periodic performance reviews both as an instructor and as a pilot during Initial and Continuing Qualification training.
Scheduling:
Instructors are permitted to request days off; however, they must have acceptable availability which normally means be available twice the number of requested workdays.
Instructors must be available nights weekends and holidays, as needed.
Instructors must be willing to work at non-ATL "off-site" training centers.
Instructors can expect to be scheduled for 8-17 simulator events per month.
Duties and Skills:
Must understand the role and responsibilities of being an airline pilot including but not limited to the following:
Pilot in Command and Second in Command Duties, roles and responsibilities
Expectations for professionalism, leadership, decision making, Crew Resource and Threat and Error Management.
Delta company policies and available resources
Be an excellent communicator.
Must be able to present an organized briefing and leads substantive, interactive discussions, including but not limited to:
Closely adheres to approved curricula and allotted time slots for each instructional module.
Logistical management of classroom and training resources.
Set-up and breakdown of presentation materials (power point, manuals, white-boards, handouts, etc.)
Must be willing to access and evaluate pilot performance and the student's ability to safely operate the aircraft in all phases of flight, including during normal and non-normal situations.
Must be a good listener and willing to solicit attendees for honest feedback on course critiques
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Must have served as a Captain at a 14 CFR Part 121 Certified Air Carrier.
Must meet the current Pilot Working Agreement (PWA) between Delta and ALPA. (Currently a minimum of 2,000 hours as Pilot in Command).
Applicants must apply no later than 24 months after retiring from a 14 CFR Part 121 Certified Air Carrier. Exceptions will be considered.

Applicant should be familiar with technology required for the job including, but not limited to:
Use of Apple iPad tablet to access instructor syllabus and briefing materials, navigational charts, operating manuals, periodic bulletins, turbulence charts, and more.
Establishing internet or cell data connections to access company information and schedules.
Use of email and email folders
Use of Power Point
