About this role
Wellpath Mental Health Fellows serve our mission of providing hope and healing by delivering compassionate, ethical, and quality care to patients in correctional (jails and prisons) settings. Our mental health staff have a unique opportunity for professional growth and make a significant difference in the lives of many through their work with diverse populations.
Under the direction of the Program Manager and Clinical Supervisor, the Mental Health Department Fellow will be responsible for providing screening, assessments, and therapeutic interventions such as brief therapy and crisis intervention using evidence-based practices to patients in accordance with all applicable licensure standards as well as state and federal rules and regulations. All activities are performed under supervision from a licensed supervisor in the Mental Health Fellows discipline.
Mental Health Fellows receive one hour of individual supervision, one hour or group supervision and two hours of training relevant to correctional mental health weekly. Over the course of the year, they will work on a project that is relevant and meaningful to their training in correctional mental health care. After two years in this position, the Mental Health Fellows will be considered for permanent employment at the facility if they are in good standing.

License-eligible in Social Work, Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy
Current CPR Certification

What you will do
As a Wellpath Mental Health Fellowship
Under the supervision of a Licensed Mental Health Professional, work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a jail to provide direct clinical care and consultation services in accordance with the company policies and procedures, policies and procedures of the institution, and in accordance with the ethical standards of relevant professional organizations (e.g., NASW, APA).
Under supervision, deliver a variety of mental health services which may include individual and group treatment, intake evaluations, crisis intervention, assessment, and post-release planning.
Gain an understanding of relevant accreditation standards, work with both facility staff and outside support agencies to facilitate patient treatment, and provide consultation and training as needed to staff on issues relevant to suicide prevention and the prevention and treatment of psychological disorders.
