FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Tourism and Hospitality at Kingsborough Community College, seeks a full-time faculty member at the Lecturer level to teach undergraduate courses in the Culinary Arts Program. The successful candidate will teach in the Culinary Arts content areas detailed below. The Culinary Arts Program is recognized for its leadership in Culinary Arts study and workforce training in the New York Metropolitan Region. Kingsborough Community College is located in Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn, adjacent to Sheepshead Bay with a diverse student population of over 11,000 commuters who attend day, evening and weekend classes. Perspective hire date is September 1, 2024.
Teach courses in the diverse segments of the Culinary Arts curriculum including, but not limited to dining room management, culinary calculations, cost control, food and beverage management.
Day, evening and weekend teaching may be required.
Serve the College and Program as faculty representative.
Service to the College is required for advancement.
Serve on college-wide committees and represent the Culinary Arts Program at various campus events.
Performs teaching and related faculty functions in area(s) of expertise.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in area (s) of expertise. Master's degree preferred, and the ability to teach successfully. Also required is the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. Applicants should have a minimum of five (5) years of post-degree employment in Culinary Arts.
Higher education teaching experience is strongly preferred.
COMPENSATION
$69,983 - $79,170. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
