    Job Description & Qualifications:

    Position Overview/Description: Design, develop and project manage a dynamic variety of learning solutions for diverse, global audiences using multiple technical platforms and delivery methods.

    We are looking for an imaginative, creative and experienced Instructional Systems Designer to design, develop, implement and curate learning solutions to support essential Ford Motor Company strategic priorities for the Office of the Global Chief General Counsel and Administrator (OGC/CAO). We want someone who is passionate about executing dynamic and contemporary learning and training experiences to ensure people acquire knowledge, skills and competencies in an effective and appealing manner. This critical role is responsible for creating a variety of learning deliverables using instructional technologies and ISD models. The person in this position also serves as a subject-matter expert in technology used by Ford to maximize collaborative work environments.


    General Duties/Responsibilities - included but not limited to:

    Learning Content and Experiences

    • Create engaging, dynamic learning experiences with compelling course content, with an emphasis on Web-based training, Virtual Classroom, in-person instructor-led, via Ford LMS, intranet social media platforms, and third-party cloud-based platforms.

    • Work with OGC/CAO Learning Strategist and other stakeholders to evaluate existing training, analyze training needs and identify learning objectives, to ensure deliverables meet user and client expectations

    • Develop a dynamic variety of corporate communications that enhance the delivery of learning modules.

    • Assist subject matter experts to identify target audiences' learning and training needs

    • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts

    • Set instructional end goals and create content that matches them

    • Cultivate exercises and activities that enhance the learning process

    • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)

    • Analyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design theories, practices and methods

    • Curate existing learning items and integrate into learning initiatives

    • Develop innovative ways to assess user knowledge and comprehension

    • Devise modes of assessment to measure the effectiveness of courses

    • Assist in design, development and maintenance of OGC-CAO, Sharepoint Sites, Ford Social Media Platforms

    • Research and early-adoption of learning and collaborative work technologies at Ford

    • Assist in planning, design and delivery of Live Learning Events (i.e. Global Learning Day, Professional Conferences, On-boarding and Orientation, etc.)

    Project Management:

    • Work collaboratively with OGC/CAO L&D, IT, Communications, SMEs and special teams members to identify and align work and timing of learning projects

    • Successfully interface with vendors

    • Schedule appropriate working meetings and strive to use alternative modes of communication to move projects ahead

    • Effectively maintain project planning documentation and materials

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Educational/Instructional Technology or related field

    • 3+ years of experience in Instructional Design in a corporate setting

    • 3+ years of experience with course development and graphics software (e.g. Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Captivate, Fireworks, Illustrator, Coursera) and Learning Management Systems (e.g. Saba)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in instructional design, educational technology/similar relevant field or equivalent experience

    • Familiarity and experience using Global English

    • Familiarity with Kirkpatrick Model of Training Evaluation

    • In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models

    • Verifiable curriculum planning skills

    • Superior ability to storyboard and present concepts and finish products to stakeholders and management

    • Accustomed to adapting to ever-changing priorities

    • Highly proficient in writing effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts

    • Ability to work well in a team environment using strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
