History Teacher

Job Description

Insight Global's client, a private learning institution in Atlanta, GA, is looking for an enthusiastic and innovate intermediate grades (6th -- 8th) History teacher. This teacher is able to think outside of the box in regard to normal teaching curriculum, thrive in an autonomous teaching environment (including forming their own curriculum and experience with respect to the subject matter) and foster curiosity and promote student engagement while assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback. The client is an innovative learning academy that thrives on a passionate, creative, and engaging education environment for students in grades 5th -- 8th and requires a candidate that is willing to go above and beyond to engage students in exciting ways. Classroom sizes will be around 23 students per course, teachers are expected to provide afternoon or morning tutoring for students and present workshops and presentations for visiting educators to demonstrate the best and most creative methods in teaching and learning.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

* Teach intermediate grades (6th -- 8th) history course focusing on historical content and critical thinking skills

* Develop engaging and interactive lesson plans that align with the curriculum and standards

* Create a dynamic learning environment that fosters curiosity and promotes student engagement

* Utilize innovated teaching methods and technology to enhance student learning experiences

* Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic development

* Interact with visiting educators and participate in observations by educators worldwide

* Present and facilitate workshops for visiting educators, demonstrating best practices in teaching and learning

Skills and Requirements

* Minimum of a bachelor's degree in history education or a related field. A major in History Education is preferred

* At least 3 years of previous teaching experience, preferably middle school history

* Strong content knowledge in history, with a passion for the subject matter

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential

* Creative and innovate thinker with adynamic teaching style

* Commitment to continuous professional growth and development * Experience in presenting and facilitating workshops for educators

* A major in History Education null
