Murfreesboro, Tennessee

The University of Tennessee at Murfreesboro Family Medicine Residency Program has an immediate opening for a core faculty position. The program received its initial accreditation in January 2014. The primary site for the program is Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital. The program's clinic is a newly-renovated 16,000 square foot facility that is in the heart of the community it serves.

Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital is a 358-bed acute care hospital that is the leading healthcare provider in Rutherford County just outside of Nashville. In October 2010, the hospital underwent a $268 million-dollar expansion project opening a new facility on a beautiful 68-acre campus equipped with state-of-the-art technology averaging 15,000 annual admissions and 90,000 ER visits annually. An $80 million-dollar expansion was completed in 2020 adding 72 beds and 4 operating rooms. Several growth projects are underway including the establishment of a Level 2 trauma service, an expansion of the ICU and development of a CV surgery program starting in January 2023.

Requirements

• BC/BE in Family Medicine

• Strong work ethic and team player

• Serve as an ambassador for the program to the community

• Rounding and call coverage on adult inpatient medicine and newborn nursery services

• OB Skills are a plus but not required

Job Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:Required Credential(s):• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO).
