  • The Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics (AMS) at Johns Hopkins University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Optimization/Operations Research. Preference will be given to candidates whose research include data science and machine learning, and those with expertise in data-driven approaches. Outstanding candidates at the Assistant and Associate Professor levels will be considered. Appointment at the rank of Professor may be considered for exceptional candidates. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Operations Research or related fields, and will be expected to establish a strong, independent, multidisciplinary, and internationally recognized research program. Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels is required. There are tremendous opportunities for interactions across the university including all of the departments in the School of Engineering (including Computer Science), the Department of (Pure) Mathematics in the School of Arts & Sciences, the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, the Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the Mathematical Institute for Data Science, as well as the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.
