  • The Division of Trauma Surgery at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is actively seeking a Trauma Surgeon to provide a full range of surgical services to those in the greater Phoenix area and surrounding Arizona communities. Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is a 766-bed Magnet recognized, ACS verified, and state certified Level 1 Trauma Center (adult care only).

    The division is a dynamic environment with 10 division faculty, 7 Advanced Practice Providers, and a very busy and growing Trauma and Critical Care program. It offers comprehensive and multi-disciplinary surgical and medical care for our patients, and our staff strives to provide the best in patient care, resident and medical student education, and academic endeavors. Our surgeons and specialists have access to some of the newest medical technologies and most advanced treatment techniques available.

    The Division is seeking an experienced Trauma Surgeon with excellent communication skills who works well in a multidisciplinary team environment . The ideal candidate will have a special interest in trauma and surgical and critical care, education, and research. The candidate selected will participate in emergency, trauma surgery, and TSICU call, develop a full-time clinical practice to support the growth of elective general surgery volumes, educate residents and medical students, be encouraged to participate in clinical and/or basic science research, and will hold a faculty appointment (from the University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix) that is consistent with their credentials.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Fellowship training in Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care

    • BC or BE in Surgical Critical Care

    • Preferred experience or residency training in Robotic/MIS

    • Eligible for an unrestricted license

    • Evidence of clinical, scholarly, and teaching ability

    • Have a history of publications, awards in teaching or clinical excellence

    • Established expertise in working with diverse patient populations

    • ATLS Instructor qualifications and teaching background required
