    Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Faculty Instructor is a registered nurse who demonstrates expertise in nursing and in teaching nursing. As a member of Mercy Hospital College of Nursing, a Program of Plantation General Hospital, the Faculty Instructor is responsible for the educational preparation of safe, compassionate, caring professional nurses, who are eligible to sit for the State Licensing Examinations (NCLEX-RN) following graduation. This instruction includes supervision of the adult learner and providing direct patient care to populations across the life span. The Faculty Instructor will support the overall goals of the College of Nursing and those of the Mercy Hospital, a Campus of Plantation General Hospital.

    What you will do in this role:

    • Participates in the development, coordination, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating of onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel

    • Conducts orientation in a manner that facilitates a positive learning environment. Incorporates organizational values/culture into the orientation process

    • Identifies learning needs of staff and assesses practice gaps, comparing competencies to actual practice. Plans educational content with learner engagement

    • Partners with the Clinical Education Market Director to review outcomes data to evaluate and refine aptitude management activities

    • Demonstrates an expertise of adult educational theory and the ability to apply evaluation methodologies, (i.e., Kirkpatrick) into courses and curriculum to refine clinical programs

    What qualifications you will need:

    • Masters Degree Required, Doctorate Preferred

    • Nursing clinical practice; Teaching in a Nursing Program is preferred.

    • Pediatric and teaching experience required, preferably in pediatrics

    • Preferred: Someone who can teach for medical-surgical nursing as well
