    GENERAL DUTIES

    Under the supervision of the CUNY Administrative Assistant and other senior staff members; College Assistants will be responsible for the following:

    • Greet students as they enter the Health & Wellness Center

    • Answer the telephone and communicate with caller in a professional and courteous manner

    • Provide clerical support for three different departments; Health, Counseling and Gender Resources

    • Monitor email inboxes for all three departments hourly

    • Sort and distribute mail

    • Respond to students' inquiries via email or in-person

    • Provide accurate information regarding health, counseling and gender resources via in-person, telephone and/or email

    • Maintain confidentiality and abide by HIPPA privacy laws

    • Check students in for their scheduled appointments and/or walk-in appointments

    • Assist students with intake forms via web-based platform

    • Schedule and/or reschedule appointments for health, counseling and/or gender resources via in-person, telephone and/or email

    • Record and relay clear and concise messages for appropriate staff members

    • Operate office machines i.e., PC, Mac, fax machine, xerox machine, scanners etc.

    • Maintain physical and electronic filing systems

    • Review incoming immunization records via fax, postal mail, email, and/or secure transfer, ensuring DOH/CUNY compliance and process student's records via CUNYFirst, remove registration holds if applicable

    • Obtain required identification and consent forms for release of records

    • Miscellaneous tasks will be assigned by supervisor and/or other senior staff members of Health and Wellness.

    • Tabling at various events which included Freshman and Transfer Orientations

    • Assist in data collection for reports and surveys

    • Assists in statistical or research activities

    • Assist senior staff with special projects such as creating policy and procedure manuals

    • Create marketing materials for events and workshops

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must demonstrate sufficient skills to perform the duties of the assigned tasks.

    COMPENSATION

    New Hire: $15.61*

    Incumbent: $25.51

    *This amount reflects a 13% salary suppression in effect for the first 24 months of employment only.
