Being a Classroom Aide at Devereux has its advantages! As a Classroom Aide you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need.

Pay-rate: $16.50 - $18.81 (based upon experience and education)

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm (52 week year round position)

Every day as a Classroom Aide you will:

• Assist in establishing classroom environments that is conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors

• Responsible for the children's welfare, safety, and location at all times, including during arrival and dismissal

• Work with the Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups

• Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher

• Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives

Devereux's schools offer education curriculum to children functioning at all grade levels. Devereux's approved private schools offer high quality, innovative special education programs that work in tandem with families and school districts to ensure that students can return to their local schools and communities with the tools they will need to succeed. Children and young adults may come to Devereux as a day student, or as a part of residential treatment. Each student has an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), which outlines goals for skill development and the best strategies by which the student can reach his/her goals.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: High School Diploma required. Associates Degree or completion of two years of post-secondary education from an accredited college or university preferred.

EXPERIENCE : Previous experience working in a special education or behavioral healthcare setting with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred.
