    The Prospect Development team has an exciting opening for an Associate Director of Due Diligence. This is a full-time, permanent position

    The Associate Director of Due Diligence oversees University Advancement's due diligence process for evaluating reputational risks pertaining to potential donors, gifts, grants, volunteers and other University relationships. This position implements research policies and procedures to meet the risk assessment needs of fundraisers, central development partners and the University Gift Acceptance Committee.

    What You Will Do: Conduct due diligence research (75%)

    • Manage and conduct due diligence research to assess risk related to accepting large gifts and grants, especially those directed toward high-visibility naming.
    • Analyze information from public sources to produce clear and effective due diligence reports for internal audiences, including executive-level staff.
    • Develop and implement workflow processes to continually monitor and assess risk from potential gifts and the University's association with prospective and existing donors.
    • Serve as a crucial partner to fundraisers working to secure private support for the University by providing timely information to aid in assessing potential risk.
    • Capture and safeguard strategic due diligence data consistent with industry best practices and organizational objectives.
    • Uphold University Advancement's diversity, equity and inclusion vision, values and actions by bringing an equity lens to risk assessment.

    Program development and management (20%)

    • Design a seamless continuum of development due diligence processes and products.
    • Create and oversee processes that acquire data from vendors and other external data sources related to prospects and funds. Work with teams that integrate the data and train colleagues in best practices related to vendor products.
    • Independently analyze and assess new vendor products and serve as point of contact for selected vendor products.
    • Promote consistency and a broader understanding of due diligence processes and policies through detailed documentation.
    • Assess the continual learning needs of the University Advancement community around due diligence. Design and implement trainings and other learning opportunities to meet these needs.
    • Advise the Senior Director for Prospect Development on strategic planning and resource allocation for the prospect development team.

    Other duties as assigned (5%) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in advancement/development, risk assessment, due diligence or related field.

    Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration. What You Bring:

    • Experience performing risk assessment, due diligence or prospect research.
    • Experience leading projects with competing deadlines and tight turnaround times.
    • A strong sense of ethics and ability to maintain high confidentiality and privacy.
    • Ability to drive change management strategies with stakeholders and partners, including, but not limited to, securing buy-in and managing feedback.
    • Demonstrated critical thinking and verbal and written communication skills, including communicating effectively with executive-level staff.
