Evidence of teaching students with diverse, interdisciplinary perspectives, as they explore a broad range of approaches to spatial, material, and social practice, is preferred. The faculty member will oversee the department's sculpture concentration and its world-class facilities, including wood and metal shops, a clay studio, and foundry.

We seek candidates willing to contribute to the department's commitment to expanding the role of studio art within a liberal arts education. The candidate will aid students in exploring contemporary conversations about artistic practice, familiarizing them with a wide range of three-dimensional materials and examining the interdisciplinary potential of the field. The ideal candidate will aid students in addressing diverse and inclusive cultural contexts, in addition to preparing majors to face challenges in their professional practices as contemporary artists.

The candidate will teach sculptural practices from the introductory to advanced levels and contribute to a vibrant undergraduate studio art program with excellent facilities for photography, sculpture, painting, filmmaking, digital media, and printmaking. We seek a colleague who is comfortable joining a department that includes studio artists, art historians, and archaeologists and is interested in collaborating across disciplinary boundaries. The successful candidate will be appointed to a full-time position with benefits and research support, and they will teach two courses per semester and contribute to the governance of the department.

A relevant terminal degree (MFA or equivalent by July 2024 at the latest) is required, and an active exhibition history and evidence of current and ongoing creative practice at a national and emerging international level is strongly desired. A range of teaching experiences at the undergraduate level is preferred. The ideal candidate will contribute to our department by bringing a perspective and/or unique set of experiences that expand the conversations and practices in the medium and the field.
