  • The Department of Spanish, Italian and Portuguese at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA seeks applications to fill one-year Assistant Professor, Academic General Faculty (tenure-ineligible) positions to begin August 25, 2024 for the 2024-25 academic year. The course load for a full-time position is three courses per semester, with advising of Spanish majors and administrative service to the Department as needed. Subject areas include, but are not limited to, the teaching of language, literature and culture in Spanish at all undergraduate levels, depending on Department need.

    Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Spanish or related field by June 1, 2022.

    Native or near-native fluency in Spanish is required.

    Applicants with experience teaching both upper and lower division courses will be preferred.
