  • The Department of Politics at the University of Virginia invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position for a scholar who studies international relations. The top priority within the field is a scholar who specializes in international institutions, civil wars, or China.

    Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in political science by the time of the appointment. Candidates should have an active research agenda that engages with normative and /or practical questions pertaining to international relations, a strong interest in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, and a willingness to contribute to the scholarly life of the Department of Politics.

    Application review will begin November 10, 2023, and the position will remain open until filled. The appointment begins with the fall semester of 2024. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment.
