ThemissionoftheNursing UnitwithintheDepartmentofAlliedHealthis consistent withthe College'smissiontoprovideeducationalopportunitiesleadingto socioeconomicmobilityfor studentsfromdiverseethnic,racial, culturaland linguisticbackgrounds,particularly HispanicsandAfricanAmericans. TheNursingprogramsprovideeducationalopportunitiesforstudents seekingentryormobilitywithin anursing careerpathas alicensedpracticalnurseand/or licensedprofessionalnurse(RN-A.A.S.).Thenursingprogramsserveas aresourceforthepromotionofhealthand wellnessforthepopulationoftheSouth Bronxand surrounding communities.Theseprogramsadheretothe standardsofPracticeand CodeofEthicsas setforthbyProfessional NursingOrganizations.

TheNursingUnitinvitesapplicationsforonetenuretrackAssistantProfessortoteachundergraduate courses inallareasof Nursing(Fundamentals,Med-Surg,PsychiatricandMaternal-ChildNursing).

Responsibilitiesinclude,butarenot limitedtothefollowing:studentadvisement, committeeparticipation,curriculumdevelopment,and scholarlyactivities.

Performsteaching,researchandguidancedutiesinarea(s)ofexpertise. Sharesresponsibilityfor committeeanddepartmentassignments includingadministrative, supervisory,andotherfunctions. Essentialdutiesrequireon- campuspresence.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent (Master'sdegree in Nursing). Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

Thefollowingqualificationsarepreferred

-Experience with ACEN Acceditation.

• Current NYSRNlicense.

• Recent clinicalexperience,andpriorteachingexperienceinanacademic setting.

• KnowledgeoftheAssociate Degree NursingEducationprogramas well as LPN certificate program.

• Evidenceof scholarlyactivity.

• Experience with simulationequipment.

• Availability to teach days,evenings,andweekends.

COMPENSATION

$75,465 - $86,645; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
