  • The Department of Neurology at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for a tenure-eligible faculty position for its Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology Program. Responsibilities include participation in clinical activities, clinical trials, and associated teaching activities. Emphasis for the position is for candidates with prior leadership experience and ability/interest in assuming division head responsibilities.

    New faculty members will have access to a wide array of clinical resources and academic opportunities. They will join an active Division of three MS/neuroimmunology fellowship-trained adult neurologists, and one MS/neuroimmunology fellowship-trained child neurologist. They will provide patient care with a multidisciplinary team in the James Q. Miller Multiple Sclerosis Clinic including neuropsychology, neuropharmacy, therapy services, and medical social work.     The teaching mission of the Division includes a joint Multiple Sclerosis and Autoimmune Neurology Fellowship Program, and working closely with superb neurology residents and medical students in the UVA School of Medicine. Additionally, the UVA Department of Neurology affords numerous collaborative research opportunities including the Department of Neurosciences and Center for Brain Immunology and Glia (BIG) ~~~/ , the UVA Brain Institute ~~~/ , and the Integrated Translational Research Institute of Virginia (iTHRIV) ~~~/ supported by the NIH Clinical and Translational Sciences Award (CTSA) program.

    Education: MD, DO or equivalent by appointment start date.

    Experience: Subspecialty training in MS/Neuroimmunology is required.

    Licensure: Board-certified or board-eligible at the time of hire in Neurology.
