    Essential Functions (Job Duties):

    We seek an anthropologist who takes a biological or evolutionary approach to understanding human populations, past or present. Topical areas of interest may include, but are not limited to human variation, adaptation, development, diet and nutrition, health, disease, reproduction, and demography. Geographic area is open.

    Teach two courses per semester.

    Supervise undergraduate and graduate students.

    Apply for external funding.

    Conduct research leading to publications.

    Participate on two department committees.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Unique Duties:

    Qualifications:

    A PhD in Anthropology is required by the start of the appointment in August 2023.

    Candidates whose research expertise complements those of our faculty and intersects with topics of broad anthropological significance.

    A willingness to establish interdisciplinary connections with other programs on campus is also strongly desired.

    The department and college will prioritize candidates whose scholarship and lived experience advances the university's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
