    As the Assistant Education Director you are responsible for providing on-site leadership and supervision for theschool program located in Landenberg PA [20 McMaster Boulevard, Landenberg PA 19350] . The Assistant Education Director engages their assigned school in a process of continual development to provide best-practice services to students with disabilities in compliance with all regulations from the PA Department of Education (PDE). Other responsibilities include but are not limited to Project Management, Fiscal Management, Compliance with PA State regulations governing Private Academic Schools and Approved Private Schools, recommending and implementing educational changes as necessary. The position will require working successfully with education-based agencies at the state and local level as well as supervises, colleagues in the programs. This program supports a bilingual (Spanish) student population and Spanish speaking is highly desired.

    Devereux Day Academy is a private academic school program located in Landenberg, PA. Devereux Day Academy is licensed to serve students in grades K-12 who have been identified with the following primary disabilities: Emotional Disturbance, behavioral and cognitive differences. The Devereux Day Academy is also able to help children with autism, intellectual disabilities and speech and language impairments. The core curriculum has been aligned with the Pennsylvania Core Standards, as well as the curricula of our partner school districts. Thisinnovative special education programs that work in tandem with families and school districts to ensure that students can return to their local schools and communities with the tools they will need to succeed. The goal of the curriculum is to provide students with learning experiences that foster increased engagement and success through differentiated instruction, evidence-based instructional strategies, and rigorous learning expectations.Each student has an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), which outlines goals for skill development and the best strategies by which the student can reach his/her goals. A multi-disciplinary team, including the individual's parent(s) or guardian, regularly reviews the plan to discuss challenges, progress and adjustments to goals as appropriate. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments.

    Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Services (DPACS) serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives.

    Qualifications

    Education: Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Related Field required; PDE K-12 principaland/orsupervisor of special education certificateORPDE administrative certificationORenrollment in supervisory certification program required.

    Experience: Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzingplatforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position). Strong organizationalskills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple taskssimultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines.

    Valid driver's license must be maintained.
