Acupuncturist

Provides complete acupuncture diagnostic and treatment services to clients in either a one-on-one or group setting.

Responsibilities:

*Participates in the delivery of integrative health care to individual patients and groups, using acupuncture and related techniques.

*Works closely with participants to adjust course of instruction to best benefit each individual and refers clients to physician/medical professionals for medical issues that may arise during sessions.

*Participates in educational activities.

*Participates in research programs.

*Participates in quality monitoring programs.

*Serves as a clinical preceptor for other health care professionals obtaining practice in the specialty area.

*Other duties as assigned.

Education:

*Masters or Masters Level Degree in Acupuncture from an accredited three year full time clinical acupuncture program or from a candidate-for-accreditation clinical acupuncture program.

Certifications:

*Board certified through the National Certification Commission on Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and certification through the State Medical Board of Ohio.

Complexity of Work:

*Within scope of job, requires excellent communication, interpersonal, accountability and organizational skills.

*Must be able to work with minimal supervision, in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

*Minimum one year experience performing acupuncture.

• 5 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Physical Requirements:

*Ability to stand, bend and stretch for extended periods of time.

*Manual dexterity to use instruments and perform examinations related to the practice.

*Must be flexible and able to travel to various practice sites

Personal Protective Equipment:

*Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
