    Job Description:

    As part of the Nursing Staff Development Department team, this position:

    • Instructs healthcare professionals in ACLS standards and expectations as according to AHA algorithms. Instructs courses using the required materials, paperwork and maintaining equipment/students/instructor ratios.

    • Recognizes class participant's learning needs and incorporates into training.

    • Completes and signs all paperwork required with each course.

    • Teaches a minimum of six (6) classes annually

    • Serves as an expert in ACLS skills

    • Evaluates and assesses classes for purpose of performance improvement of class content and instructor qualifications.

    • Keeps abreast of AHA standards, certification for instruction by the AHA and adult learning practices.

    • Attends instructor-training update programs as required by the AHA.

    • Maintains current status as ACLS and BLS provider and instructor.

    Qualifications

    Education: Required:

    • High School Diploma or G.E.D.,

    • Licensed Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor and provider status required.

    • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

    Experience

    Preferred: At least one (1) year ACLS and health education teaching experience.
