Additional Information Purpose of positionThe position will work with the Sr. Web Designer, the web team, and the public affairs team, to develop sites for the UT System website collection. Together with the web team, the position is responsible for a site's scope, visual design, technological needs, programming, user experience, and post-launch support.
Essential functionsDevelop and maintain the UT system website and collection of sites in Drupal and non-CMS platforms. Work with the Web Designer in building new sections of the main site, secondary websites, creating content tools and processes for users and adding new features.Develop advanced Drupal functions for the main site and advanced programming for non-CMS websites. Create, program and implement Drupal themes and modules for site building; edit existing Drupal site setups. Update non-CMS sites with new features, sections and programming functions. Provide scope and roadmaps to solve online challenges for UT System offices or services. Assess user needs and experiences with existing sites/functions and develop corresponding solutions. Handle short term production requests on websites and Drupal modifications for UT System offices and initiatives. Test, debug, and run quality assurance for Drupal and non-CMS sites. Research new programming standards, techniques, modules and themes for implementation in the UT System collection of websites.

Required qualificationsBachelors degree with a minimum of three years of related experience OR Associates degree with a minimum of five years of related experience. Experience in HTML, CSS, PHP and Drupal development.
Preferred qualificationsJavaScript, jQuery and XML experience preferred. Knowledge and experience in standards compliant coding and accessibility. Experience in sites with large scopes and/or maintaining a large amount of users is preferred. Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 coding.
Working conditionsMay work around standard office conditions.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least
20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
