Overview:
The Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the Transportation Services of RUSM.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the daily management of RUSM vehicles; Supervise all RUSM appointed drivers; Maintain and manage a schedule of all transportation requests on behalf of RUSM; Maintain a schedule for regular maintenance/servicing of all RUSM vehicles and ensure that the schedule is adhered to; Maintain a vehicle logbook for each vehicle in the RUSM fleet detailing mileage, driver, date and time and purpose for use; Carry out inspection of vehicles when they are issued and returned by authorized RUSM staff. Inspect and document any vehicular accident/incident relating to any of the RUSM vehicles; Prepare damage and other monthly statistical, and other reports for all RUSM vehicles; Coordinate request from other departments for transportation needs. Ensure that all vehicles’ licenses and insurances are kept up-to-date and a copy is maintained in each vehicle; Ensure that all authorized drivers are qualified to drive an RUSM vehicle and that his/her driver’s license is valid; Assist in the maintenance and management of transportation contracts, and to ensure that all contract drivers are adhering to the terms and conditions of their individual contracts; Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budget for the transportation department. Assist in the development and preparation of operating procedures and policies for the Transportation department; Any other duties commensurate with the position which may be assigned from time-to-time.
Qualifications:
3 years in a supervisory role, an associate’s degree or 2 year college diploma; Computer literate with a working knowledge and experience of MicroSoft Word Operating Windows; available to work on week-ends and public holidays if the need arises and to work in a call-out situation; Knowledge of basic accounting principles would be an asset.
