Requirements:
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrate strong clinical laboratory technical expertise, problem solving skills and ability to work with the public.
Bachelor of Science or equivalent required; Masters Degree preferred
State of California Clinical Laboratory Scientist certificate with a minimum of five years experience preferred.
Knowledge of educational standards and best practices is essential.
Excellent presentation skills and experience with public speaking required.
Intermediate to Advanced level computer skills in MS OUTLOOK, WORD, and EXCEL required.
Knowledge of website maintenance and design desirable.
Organized multi-tasked person with demonstrated ability to meet objectives and schedules. Flexibility to work through organizational and regulatory obstacles.
Excellent problem solving and communication skills for effective interaction with a variety of healthcare and external customers.

The 324-bed John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek Campus is the designated Trauma Center for Contra Costa County and provides comprehensive services and programs including: cardiovascular, diabetes, oncology, neurosciences, orthopedics, rehabilitation and home health services. John Muir Medical Center, Concord campus also has a full-service MuirLab offers comprehensive diagnostic and monitoring tests. It is supported by board certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologists, 100 energetic and highly motivated clinical lab scientists, lab assistants, phlebotomists and related personnel. Both centers are accredited by the College of American Pathologists and certified by the American Association of Blood Banks.
Core Laboratory
MuirLab , our core lab that performs testing for the Medical Centers and our successful Outreach program, is now open. We have the newest testing equipment and vanguard information systems, such as the McKesson (Horizon) Lab IT System and Tamtron Powerpath System for AP and Cytology testing with the latest in imaging capabilities as well. We also have an automated line using robotics for specimen distribution to the testing instrumentation for Chemistry and Hematology. Microbiology and Molecular Diagnostics for the health system are centralized at the MuirLab facility in a state of the art laboratory.

Our intensive Orientation Program includes an introduction to the hospitals, and training in Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Immunology, Molecular Pathology and Microbiology. Other courses cover customer service and safety. From day one, your growth and development are top priorities.
