We are currently looking for Technical Trainers on a Per Diem basis. Custom Computer is seeking Professional Developers and Instructional Technologists with a passion for education and educational technology to join our team of consultants. Our professional developers provide onsite consultation, professional development, and support to K-12 schools. The ideal candidate will have the skills and ability to help lead our team in the on-going development of progressive, innovative technology based professional development programs and workshops for our K-12 customers.
Qualifications: · At least 7 years of experience in K-12 education. · Content area experience in one or more of the following; Literacy, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science · Strong comfort level with communication technologies, current computer software, Internet research, digital video and storytelling, Web tools, etc. · Experience applying technologies in the classroom to advance instructional goals. · Strong understanding of how to leverage technology to enhance instructional strategies · Professional development experience as a lead-teacher, coach, or corresponding instructional leadership role. · Knowledge of the Common Core Standards, National Educational Technology Standards, Media Literacy and best practices in the use of educational technology. · Ability to co-develop performance-assessment tasks and rubrics aligned to standards · Excellent written and oral communication skills
Position Responsibilities Include: · Consulting with schools and educators to advance vision for instructional technology and 21stCentury Learning. · Development and delivery of instructional technology professional development programs, workshops and curricula targeted at helping teachers meet individual goals for instruction and student learning · Modeling effective instructional practices for teachers including; o Creating authentic learning experiences for students aligned to standards o Developing and supporting visions for innovative, student-centered instruction enhanced via technology o Observing and providing feedback to educators at different stages of classroom curricula development and instruction with technology · Creating and administering pre and post assessments measuring skill levels and professional development delivery success · Investigating current educational research and developing new ideas for classroom workshops · Revising existing and developing new training curricula, documentations and manuals · Establishing and maintaining good relationships with client sponsors and professional development participants · Regularly monitoring web sites and technical information libraries to keep abreast of emerging technologies
Positions are based in either Hauppauge, Long Island or Lincoln, Rhode Island offices and would require daily travel to our client sites and occasional overnight travel in the Northeast.
