Technical Analyst Job in Downtown Minneapolis, MN Duration: 6 months (Potential to go Direct/Perm) Client: High Profile, Financial Industry Required Skills: • Candidate must have minimum of 5 years of combined experience in storage architecture, administration, or production support. • Must have strong background with enterprise level SAN/NAS storage systems (IBM System Storage, EMC Symmetrix, etc). • Must have extensive knowledge and experience with SAN Virtualization and SAN replication technologies (e.g. IBM SAN Volume Controller, IBM Global Mirror, etc) • Must have extensive knowledge and experience with SAN connectivity devices (Fibre Channel Technology, Cisco, McData and/or Brocade switches). • Must be assertive, confident and comfortable taking the lead by establishing command and control when necessary • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal; ability to communicate across all levels) • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous work streams simultaneously • Must have great attention to detail while operating with urgency, focus and discipline • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills required (troubleshooting or other problem/incident management experience) • Maintains awareness and expertise relative to evolving technologies and techniques • Must have the ability to work independently; strong thought leadership and motivation
Preferred Skills: • Knowledge of LAN/WAN network infrastructure, including cabling, switches, routers and hubs, and acceleration/de-duplication devices a plus • Knowledge and experience with server administration, configuration, or performance tuning also a plus Job Summary: Team Lead - Hosting Operations, Storage: • This role will provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for the Hosting Operations team. • Provide day to day leadership for storage engineers and subject matter experts both internal to the organization and external across multiple hosting providers. • Lead and contribute to process development and re-engineering efforts (e.g. Storage Provisioning process) • Identify, research, and drive resolution of issues or gaps that present risk to the health of the Storage environment. • Provide technical leadership during incident or problem states. • Monitor the Storage and Backup environments for operational excellence. • Develop and manage a robust capacity planning methodology for the storage environment(s).
