Job Description
Jacksonville Lighthouse Charter School (WGLCS) is seeking masterful teachers who want to take the first step into school leadership with Lighthouse Academies. JLCS currently serves approximately 350 students in grades K-6 and will continue to add grades until it is K-12.
The Teacher Leader Fellow is a Lighthouse Academies, Inc. (LHA) school leader in training who leads with determination and integrity, embodying the following essential qualities:
* Past experiences and actions reflect a commitment to the LHA mission, vision, core values
* A passion and ability to build and sustain the LHA K-12 model in a high need, urban environment
* Work in schools that demonstrates a sense of urgency and the relentless pursuit of high academic student achievement
* Reflective, self-aware and adaptable to communication and work styles of others
* Critical thinker and problem solver who takes initiative
* Belief in the power of collaboration and works to build a collaborative culture with LHA network, community, staff, families and students
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
A Teacher Leader Fellow has been chosen for this program due to their masterful teaching abilities that have resulted in significant closure of the achievement gap with their students. While working through the Teacher Leader Fellow training program, the Teacher Leader Fellow will continue their masterful teaching while also learning and executing the skills necessary to become an effective school leader with Lighthouse Academies.
INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP
I. DATA ANALYSIS
* Organize, understand and analyze data to increase the use of targeted and differentiated instruction in the classroom.
* Organize, understand and analyze data to assist with determining professional development needs and in assisting school leadership team in making school-wide decisions.
II. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
* Increase knowledge of LHA instructional coaching model and use coaching model with identified teachers to influence instruction in the classroom and maximize learning time.
* Work with Director of Instruction and designated teachers to guide the implementation and pacing of the LHA education program.
* Plan and implement professional development based on school needs as determined through data analysis and recommendations of the Principal and Director of Instruction.
* Provide professional development with infusing the arts into the LHA education programs.
* Reflect critically on own practice and the practice of assigned teachers; make informed and conscious decisions to effect change in practice.
* Participate in professional development in identified area that will increase grade level and/or content knowledge in an area outside of training and experience.
III. CULTURE of ACHIEVEMENT and RESPECT
* Build a culture of achievement and responsibility with LHA staff members aligned with School Culture Guide and Responsive Classroom.

OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP
I. MANAGEMENT
* Assist the Director of Instruction with the organization, management and inventory of all curriculum resources, including assessment materials and curricular programs.
Complete other duties related to this position that may be assigned, including the physical demands of light to moderate bending and lifting, climbing stairs, and standing intermittently throughout the day.

Skills/Requirements
EDUCATION:Masters Degree in Education, Education Administration or Teaching
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS:
* Three (3) years teaching experience with a proven track record of success in “moving the needle” on student achievement and closing the achievement gap.
* Required State teaching certificate/licensure
* Highly Qualified status underNo Child Left Behind
* Strong desire to work within an innovative, urban educational program
* Training and implementation of LHA curriculum programs
* Instructional coaching and/or mentoring
* Ability to use data to inform instruction and decision-making related to student achievement
* Ability to turn best practices into high quality, goal-driven results
* Highly effective writing, oral and interpersonal skills to communicate with a varied audience
* Data management tools, organizational tools, computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook)
