Position: Systems Design Engineer
Location
of job: Cleveland, OH
Compensation: 100-140k
Experience: Prefer 3-5+ years design experience in a single
discipline (e.g. nuclear medicine, diagnostic imaging, other FDA
regulated medical device related positions) This would be followed
by several years of multi-disciplinary design experience on large
capital equipment systems or regulated industries such as aerospace,
automotive, DOD etc... .
Education: - BS/MS in Mechanical,
Electrical, Computer Science, Physics or Biomedical Engineering.

Engineer:
- Be experienced in project planning and Microsoft
Office suite with an emphasis in Excel.
- Apply a broad
interdisciplinary background along with experience of large capital
equipment systems to work with marketing to understand and decompose
customer and market driven requirements to system requirements. - Facilitate discussion between marketing and senior engineering
staff. - Act as a senior technical resource and system architect
for complex systems for customer solutions. - Design and develop
system specifications, input/output processes, working parameters
for hardware/software compatibility and coordination of the design
of subsystems along with the integration of the total system. -
Acting as the lead technical resource for the program manager, this
position will aid project management and project design in the work
breakdown structure and its decomposition into work packages. -
Help define project resource needs and time lines along with various
functional managers. - Own and oversee the development of the
system integration plan that maps out how multiple
multi-disciplinary elements of the system will be brought together
to form an initial working unit. - Define the testing required
to ensure that the system design has been achieved and meets
requirements. - As system level integration test manager, the SE
will lead the engineering staff in the development of specific
integration test protocols and participate in the execution of those
tests as part of the engineering team. - Support detail design
activities through review of specification documents, participating
in design reviews, review of manuals and technical instructions, and
take an active role in risk analysis, defect identification, and bug
scrubs. - This position identifies, analyzes and resolves
program support deficiencies. - Develop and recommend corrective
actions- prefer experience in design controls and regulatory
requirements associated with the development of complex medical
diagnostic products., but will also consider experience in larger
complex systems from regulated industries (aerospace, automotive,
DOD etc...)
- Experience utilizing Requirements
Management tools (eg. Rational RequisitePRO or DOORS) and problem
reporting/defect tracking tools such as Rational
ClearQuest.
Skills. - Knowledge and experience spanning
multiple engineering disciplines (e.g. mechanical, electrical,
software and systems engineering) is advantageous. -
Accomplishments should provide evidence of practical knowledge of
standards and regulations, both domestic and international (e.g.
FDA, ISO 9000, UL etc.). - Must possess-Creative problem solving
skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills. -
Ability to develop strong working relationships with internal and
external customers to collaborate extensively with groups outside of
product development (e.g. quality, marketing, manufacturing, field
service, clinical support and customer clinicians). - Must be a
self starter capable of working in a fast paced matrix environment. - Some travel may be required for meetings and to meet potential
customers
