Description: The Systems and Architectures group of the Air and Missile Defense Division examines current capabilities and potential near- and long-term technology opportunities for US ballistic missile and air defense systems. It performs analysis on all aspects of such systems including radar, infrared and laser sensors, satellites, interceptors, and the software and algorithms that enable them to perform their functions of search, track, identification, interceptor guidance and battle management. Staff members in the group have a wide variety of backgrounds including Physics, Math, and Engineering.

Technical Staff. Will work with a multi-disciplinary team to address a broad range of technical areas in Air and Missile Defense, including RF and IR sensor performance, countermeasures and discrimination technologies, electronic attack and electronic protection issues and system architecture studies. Work will involve system-level simulations, mathematical modeling and data analysis.

Requirements:
PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or other technical field, coupled with the ability to apply talents to new fields at both the technically detailed and big picture levels is required. In lieu of a PhD, an MS with 5+ years of directly related experience will be considered.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts in a clear, concise manner to a wide spectrum of audiences are required. Experience working with MATLAB or other comparable computational/simulation programming language is highly desired.
