Overview

The Student Professional Experience Specialist identifies student professional experience opportunities by building relationships with local corporate, non-profit and government employers. Promotes professional experience opportunities to students in accordance with overall Career Services’ goals.


Responsibilities
* Builds effective relationships with local employers, non-profit and government organizations and community partners to identify and obtain professional experience opportunities for current students. Meets or exceeds student professional experience performance rate.
* Works closely with Career Services Specialist and Director of Career Services to develop and maintain professional experience opportunities in the community and within the school.
* Promotes professional experience opportunities to students. Interviews students to determine interests, skills and strengths to match them to the appropriate professional experience opportunities.
* Maintains regular contact with the employers and students to monitor the student job performance.
* Maintains the Career Services database, documentation, reports and student records in accordance with Corporate policies and procedures. Tracks and reports activities that measure department’s effectiveness.
* Reviews and provides feedback on student portfolios.
* Ensures compliance with corporate policies and procedures, ethical practices, and the guidelines of government and accrediting organizations.


Requirements
*
Bachelor’s degree in a social science discipline, human resources, business, marketing, or a related area from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education or equivalent experience.
*
Six months to one year experience in executive search, employment staffing, outplacement services, career services, employment assistance, or sales experience in the corporate sector.
*
Previous proven success in presenting sales or training material
*
Possess excellent interpersonal, influencing and collaboration skills. Able to present results to all levels of management and public. Able to work with a variety of disciplines and levels inside and outside of the organization.
*
Efficiently and effectively utilize a personal computer and related software including Microsoft Office, departmental specific software and the Internet.
*
Proven educational or administrative experience in solving complex problems for individuals or teams. Experience with analyzing and identifying the strengths and weaknesses of options and exercise critical thinking, problem solving, and judgment skills.
*
Strong work ethic, timely and accurately organize, prioritize and complete all job responsibilities.
*
Able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high level, quality work and output. Proven record ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, results-oriented environment.
*
Interacts in a cooperative and professional manner with others. Able to work effectively in a team environment. Past history of developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.

ITT Technical Institute issues, on an annual basis, a Safety and Security Policies and Crime Statistics Report. The Report discloses information about our College’s safety and security policies and procedures, and statistics concerning the number of particular crimes reported to each College and local law enforcement agencies as occurring on each College’s premises or public property adjacent to the School. The Report serves to inform each College’s students, prospective students, employees and prospective employees of the existence and enforcement of the College's safety and security policies.
