Description: World Learning/SIT seeks candidates for the position of Senior Vice President of Academic Programs. The Senior Vice President is the chief academic officer for The SIT Graduate Institute, SIT Study Abroad, and The Experiment in International Living. They will oversee academic programs in over 50 countries. The Senior Vice President for Academic Programs will be the lead operational executive responsible for ensuring the overall academic integrity and effective operation of the institution. World Learning/SIT is going through an exciting time of organizational development. The Senior Vice President will oversee a group of talented deans and directors who are highly committed to our mission and focused on increasing our global impact through innovation, growth and a commitment to running the highest quality programs. They will also be a member of the senior management of World Learning, which is the parent organization of SIT. World Learning runs education, exchange and international development programs in every region of the world. Hence, the ideal candidate will be well versed and interested in international education, exchange and international development. Reporting directly to the President, the Senior Vice President serves as a senior member of the President's staff. The ideal candidate will be excited about developing new programs and innovative ways, excited to be part of a global organization with both education and international development staff somebody who has excellent management skills. They will be somebody who works well with others and believes in the mission of World Learning/SIT.
Specific Responsibilities: . Oversight of all academic and non-academic matters of SIT and The Experiment . Lead the definition, articulation and implementation of strategic choices and direction of SIT and The Experiment . Responsible for delivering quality programs within approved budgets' . Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for deans, directors, faculty and staff . Work closely with the faculty for program and curriculum development and quality assurance . Serve as a member of the Senior Management Team of World Learning in support of the overall management of World Learning . Encouraging close cooperation and joint work with other World Learning programs . Represent SIT and The Experiment to the World Learning Board of Trustees and other constituencies, in particular, prospective donors, prospective partner organizations, foundations and government funding agencies, accrediting bodies, and alumni . Work with Marketing and Admissions staff on strategy and oversee Marketing and Admissions
Required Experience: . An outstanding record of leadership and administrative experience in an academic environment and experience with international and experiential education . Sound judgment in setting priorities and developing policies in academic, fiscal and personnel areas . Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work in cross-cultural environments and with a great diversity of people. . Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of the role of faculty governance in an academic institution. . Demonstrated knowledge of and appreciation for emerging trends in education.; . Background in developing and marketing academic programs is a plus . An interest in all aspects of World Learning's work
Required Education: An earned doctorate.
