City Austin, TX or Livermore, CA Title Sr. Product Manager Req # 10067 Position Overview As a Sr. Product Manager, you will be responsible for product line contribution to multiple business units. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new products for the company. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand specific problems, and find innovative solutions that apply to the broader market.
You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with core platform and engineering counterparts to define product release requirements. You will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, pricing, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, often working with the sales channel and key customers.
A product manager's key role is strategic, but tactical task execution may also be required to support the objectives of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a track record of increasing management responsibility of software products focused on General or Specialty Retail markets. He or she will be able to prove experience creating profitable new products and managing portfolios that include both go-forward and legacy solution sets.
This position can be based in either Austin, TX or Livermore, CA. Responsibilities * Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities * Understand and specify business requirements for target segments by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers * Analyze competitive offerings/solutions to identify differentiators, gaps and pricing * Create business cases for new product investments that support profitable revenue generation * Prioritize execution efforts based on a broad set of variables, including customer satisfaction, national account retention, operational/development complexity and revenue potential * Drive a solution set across teams (primarily Development/Engineering, Core Platform Product Management and Marketing Communications) through market requirements development, detailed opportunity analysis, pricing, packaging and positioning * Develop and implement company-wide go-to-market plans, working with all departments to execute * Analyze partnership opportunities for products and/or integrated solutions Requirements * Roll up your sleeves, entrepreneurial, get-it-done attitude * 8+ years of software product management experience. * Prior experience delivering products to a Retail customer base a strong plus * Prior experience in the Automotive Aftermarket a strong plus * Knowledgeable in current technologies, including network and mobile. * Bachelor degree in appropriate field required, MBA a strong plus. * Strong, applicable references * This position requires travel to customer and non-customer sites in North ly Now!Refer A Friend Activant Solutions does not accept unsolicited agency resumes.
