The Sr. Design Engineer will be responsible for developing new and innovative devices within our General Surgery product line at Stryker's Endoscopy Division. The product development cycle will involve collaboration between cross functional and diverse teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Determine and understand customer needs in order to implement design approaches and parameters and conduct feasibility studies on new designs. •Analyze equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests and evaluate the results. •Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements. •Will aid in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, manufacturable and reliable. •Assist in evaluating vendor capability to support development. •Provide updates on progress and project timelines to the rest of the business •Interact with customers to resolve any technical or product related issues.
Qualifications/Work Experience
•4 years related design engineering experience preferably in the medical device industry •Proficiency with Pro-E •Ability to analyze and correct complex product design issues of a moderate scope using independent judgment •Excellent analytical skills •Effective interpersonal communication skills •Demonstrated mechanical/electrical problem solving skills
