Summary: Our organization provides tutoring to students in grades K-12 who qualify for free tutoring through the No Child Left Behind program. We are seeking enthusiastic tutors who enjoy working with children and can tutor in English Language Arts, Math, and Science for all grades K-12. We are hiring now for tutoring to begin immediately and continue throughout the academic school year until May 2011. Tutoring takes place in the students home or local library. All tutoring is conducted one-on-one, and tutors schedule all sessions based on their availability. Job Requirements: - Patient, responsible and passionate about teaching - Bilingual in Spanish & English is a big plus - Tutors with experience in Special Education are encouraged to apply - College students with a minimum of 60 units are welcome to apply, but they must have previous tutoring experience - Previous experience as an SES / NCLB tutor is preferred - Must have proof of a TB Test and be able to pass criminal background checks through the Department of Justice and FBI - Reliable means of transportation Compensation: - $20.00 per hour for tutors with a Masters, PhD, and/or Teaching Credential - $16.50 per hour for tutors with a completed BA/BS from a four year university - $15.00 per hour for tutors who are currently pursuing a degree and have completed a minimum of 60 credits or an Associates Degree.
