Pomona Unified School District Spanish Teacher - Various High Schools - VN #44 Spanish Teacher - Various High Schools - VN #44 RESPONSIBLE TO: Building Principal SCHEDULED TO BEGIN: 2010-11 School Year QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum: 1. Appropriate California Teaching Credential (Preliminary/Clear) or letter from a college or a university verifying Preliminary acceptance in a CTC approved Teacher Internship Program. 2. Must possess EL authorization and if needed be able to obtain a bilingual credential, BCC/BCLAD certification (Bilingual Crosscultural Language Academic Development), or be willing to participate in an appropriate program leading towards and obtaining the designated BCC/BCLAD certification. 3. Ability to work effectively in a multiethnic setting. 4. Must be No Child Left Behind compliant by subject. Desirable: 1. Successful teaching experience at the secondary level in the above subject area. 2. Knowledge of current trends and research concerning the teaching area, as well as the trends and research dealing with growth, development and behavior patterns of adolescents. 3. Master's degree in Spanish. 4. Experience in classroom cooperative learning. 5. Recent experience in developing foreign language curriculum. 6. Native Spanish speaker. 7. Willingness and interest in planning and participating in curricular and extracurricular activities for high school students. GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS: Work Year and Salary: 10-month position (188 days) Appropriate placement on the Regular Teachers Salary schedule (annual salary $41,351 - $79,712), plus a factor of .055 of the Teachers Salary Schedule for special assignment with appropriate bilingual credential.
