A member of our Technical Services Division, located at the JWC in Suffolk, VA, has an opportunity for a SOF Plans Analyst/Trainer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals to serve as one of the team's SOF Subject Matter Experts.

The Special Operations Forces (SOF) Analyst/Trainer will assist in planning, designing, executing, controlling & analyzing joint SOF training & exercises. Specific tasks include: leading the development & presentation of SOF related training seminars; serving as an Analyst/Trainer during joint exercises; mentoring and training commanders and staffs of geographic combatant commands, JTFs, and JSOTFs; leading the review & recommendation of changes to joint SOF doctrine; assisting in designing exercises, developing scenarios, & developing master scenario events lists (MSELs); attending & facilitating conferences; developing observation & training plans; leading the analysis & preparation of after action reviews & reports; collecting, analyzing, and reporting lessons learned; and coordinating & interfacing with the JCW & theater SOC exercise planners. Will also support contingency operations as required.


Basic Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: • Requires an understanding of Joint Operations Planning Process
• Experience in developing training plans and schedules is required
• Must have recent operational experience in the military. (""recent"" defined as within the past 5 years)
• Must have a solid understanding of SOF - conventional forces integration and Joint SOF operations
• Excellent knowledge and experience using PowerPoint, MS Word, MOSS Portal, and Excel required
• Group facilitation, presentation, and staff officer skills combined with the ability to facilitate senior level and action officer level seminars is required
• Must have ten (10) years experience and a B.S. in Business Management, Education, or related field (14 years military experence w/o a degree)

Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current and active U.S. Top Secret level security clearance and be SCI eligible to be selected. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
• Degree in a related field & 20 years experience a plus.
• Ability to write/prepare operational orders, plans, mission support requests, field reports, etc is preferred.
• Expertise in planning and executing some or all phases of military training exercises, including doctrinal development, scenario development, and after action review and analysis is highly desirable.
