KIPP is a national network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools with a track record of preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and in life. The SharePoint Specialist will serve as the technical lead and primary administrator for the MOSS 2007 Server Farm at the KIPP Foundation. The SharePoint Specialist will participate in organization-wide initiatives which include collaboration and development of business intelligence solutions enhancing MOSS 2007. The KIPP Foundation uses Microsoft products and technologies for most of its implementations. The key products we work with are Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007, SQL Server 2008 and .NET 3.0.
The specialist will be the primary technical expert for all SharePoint development and integrations projects, which will include participation in implementation and technical supervision of work outsourced to consultants. This individual will also be responsible for designing, integrating and supporting existing applications built on the SharePoint platform.
This position will work closely with our regions and schools and will report to the Manager, Application Responsibilities:
* Own entire life-cycle of development of SharePoint-based applications, including written design documents, implementation of requested customizations, and comprehensive testing.
* Assist with the implementation of an information architecture that integrates various systems at KIPP Foundation and affiliated regions/schools with the goal of a long term sustainable architecture
* Manage SharePoint Infrastructure
* Manage vendor relationships around SharePoint initiatives
* Promote SharePoint technologies and spearhead user adoption
* Educate end users on best practicesQualifications:
* Proven experience in the design and development of complex solutions using Microsoft SharePoint 2007
* Candidate must have proficiency in .NET Framework, , XML, XSLT, Javascript, Web Services and AJAX.
* Candidate must have working knowledge of Visual Studio 2008, SharePoint Designer
* Experience with Workflow, InfoPath, Business Data Catalog, Excel Services
* Must demonstrate knowledge of Medium/Large Farms
* Experience providing technical assistance to teams and partnering with external consultants
* Experience deploying MOSS Servers, Web Applications, Site Collections and Sites
* Experience creating and deploying Solutions and Features
* Candidate must have administration knowledge of Windows Server 2003, 2008 and IIS
* Experience with Silverlight and Expression Studio a plus
* Excellent time management skills needed to balance multiple priorities and ensure delivery of high quality products
* Must be a motivated team player
* High level of attention to detail
* Strong oral and written communication with both technical and non-technical audiences
* Minimal travel required
