The Waterloo Engineering group is growing its Quality Assurance team and we are looking for experienced Test Engineers to support our Automation, System and Performance testing activities and to develop new capabilities to the automation framework. The QA team is an integral part of the product development process. As a member of the QA team, you will be responsible for participating in design meetings, test planning, test automation and overall testing activities. You will be working with the rest of the QA team and the development teams, ensuring that we have the proper automated tests for each of the features we are delivering. The Opportunity We are looking for a talented QA engineer to help our team: * Expand our automated test coverage and capabilities * Run automated test suites * Gather and analyze test results, create comprehensive test reports * Define and establish new test beds * Perform manual testing where applicable * Keep at the forefront of test technologies and methodologies You will work with the QA manager to establish your goals and for your areas of responsibility and will be interacting with the development group as well as your peers in the QA team. You will have the opportunity to use both our extensive in-house automation frameworks to automate functional tests as well as other automation used in system and performance testing. You are expected to run these tests, document the results and work with the development teams to resolve any issues found. Required Skills
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience * Knowledge of Windows, Linux, VM ESX environment * Exposure to C, C++, Java Required Experience
* 2 years previous work experience in a Software Development, Quality Assurance or a related field * Knowledge and previous experience with automation using a scripting language; Perl and/or Python preferred * Strong Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP and other network and internet protocols * Experience in the area of System and Performance testing * Strong problem solving, communication, organizational and prioritization skills * Demonstrated ability to complete tasks independently with minimum supervision Job Location Waterloo, ONT, CANADA Position Type Full-Time/Regular Salary Canadian Dollar (CAD)
