Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: Defines deployment objectives and monitors overall implementation plan, timing, budget and key milestones for multiple CampusVue implementation projects. This may also include other software products such as CampusPortal, CampusCornerstone, CampusVantage, Dynamics - GP, and others. The Project Manager drives the entire implementation process to ensure deadlines are met and within budget. Works with the Resource Manager to ensure the project is properly staffed for project requirements. Achieves sign-off after each phase completion. Builds and maintains client relationship. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Prepares and analyzes work plans and budgets. Revises plan and budget as necessary and with appropriate client approvals. Develops contingency/recovery plans. •Conducts project kick off. (If a Systems Architect is not a part of the project team), advises the customer on the business processes and best practices for purposes of establishing the rules for set up and configuration. Develops project organization, structure, and communication strategies. Analyzes customer problems and needs and proactively proposes solutions. •Defines project team roles and responsibilities. •Determines appropriate communication strategy and establishes effective processes and practices for project issues, updates, milestone meetings, status reports, etc. •Performs and maintains database management activities; extracts information from databases to create reports and client invoicing. Analyzes information from reports and develops recommendations. •Responsible for timely and accurate reporting to Senior Management on the successful outcome of all project objectives. •Coaches and mentors Consultants and Project Leads to further their professional growth and development. •Provides direction to resolve complex problems, collaborating with others as appropriate; identifies trends. Maintains accountability for the timely resolution of project-related issues. •Coordinates work processes using Implementation Methodology. Applies expert understanding of and maintains accountability for all client-facing documentation including functional, technical, and/or end-user materials. Approves documentation prior to being sent to client. •Other duties as assigned by management.
Skills/Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in related field. Master’s degree preferred. EXPERIENCE: •5+ years in complex, technical project management, client consulting, software implementation and training or ERP implementations. •PMI certification required. •Higher Education industry experience preferred. •5+ years of demonstrated experience conducting highly visible presentations. •Working knowledge of relational databases required. Practical experience with SQL preferred. •Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, or one ERP project, managing all aspects of the process: BPA, configuration, data conversion, UAT, training and go live. •Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team to meet goals and objectives. •Demonstrated ability to forecast and manage budgets. •Highly developed customer-facing skills and networking ability. Has established strong relationships within the organization to achieve results. SKILLS: •Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. Experience with project management software required. Ability to create, follow and revise project plans to meet project milestones and objectives. Ability to learn new technologies quickly in order to explain all Campus Management products and services. •Ability to set and communicate high expectations; lead and motivate others to achieve project objectives. Ability to assess team dynamics quickly and balance responsibilities, solve problems and improve team performance. •Motivates and involves stakeholders to help implement and support change. •Requires excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the post-secondary higher education administrative structure, including executive level. Proven effective listening skills. •Highly developed presentation skills with the ability to develop the same in others. Solicits different viewpoints, shares knowledge and insights. •Ability to negotiate, persuade and influence others regarding best practices and additional products and services when deemed a valuable business solution. •Looks for opportunities to improve work processes by using business technology and other resources. NOTE: Job requires 50% travel. Some travel on weekends and/or holidays may be required. Working additional hours at customer sites as requested. Participate in after-hour meetings with management
