Senior Process Technology Engineer
Job Title Senior Process Technology Engineer Department Technology Region/Pole Americas Functional Work Area Research Essential Functions/Responsibilities SABIC-Innovative Plastics is looking for an experienced Process Technology Engineer who is seeking the opportunity to use his/her engineering competencies and project leadership skills to drive growth of the largest product line within our specialty business unit.
This role is ideally suited for an individual who enjoys leading a mix of projects including new process development, new product development, process piloting, and plant optimization. The main focus of this position's workgroup is the development of new polymers/copolymers, improving existing processes and unit operations, and developing next generation process technology. Development and scale-up of new material both internally and externally at toll manufacturers is a key function of this role.
The ideal candidate is passionate about applying creative engineering solutions at all scales of process and materials development from the lab scale and pilot scales to the commercial scale. This role requires an individual with proven project management experience and the ability to work seamlessly across multiple manufacturing locations and research centers around the globe. The ideal candidate will be one who can work across multiple functional silos to accomplish project goals. A history of creativity and real world process experiences is required for this position.
You will be empowered to initiate and lead new process development programs as well as product scale-up programs to bring ideas from the laboratory to the manufacturing scale, applying statistical tools to ensure consistent performance of the products. Qualifications/Requirements M.S./Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
Additional Requirements
. 5+ years of industrial experience in the chemical process industry. . Experience with Polymers or knowledge of chemical industry unit operations, especially those pertinent to polymer processes. . Demonstrated project management. . Excellent technical, written and verbal communication skills. . Ability to handle diverse responsibilities and multiple programs. . Willingness to be a team player. . Demonstrated creativity and problem solving ability. . Experience with Statistical analysis tools, ASPEN process simulation software and Design of Experiment approach a plus (Six Sigma) . Lab experience and process piloting experience preferred.
