Senior Process Engineer (CCS) Job Ref 6319BR Job Category Energy Job Description The Thermal & Renewable Division of the Power Unit presently requires a new senior engineer with industry experience to work within our team to deliver specific projects or sub-projects. Dependent upon experience they may be required to deputise for the senior project manager.
The successful candidate will work in interdisciplinary project teams on a range of assignments covering carbon capture and storage (CCS) on coal, gas-fired, coal gasification (IGCC plants) and capture-ready plants with the opportunity to grow and share technical expertise within your team and across other disciplines. You will draw on analytical skills and practical experience to provide technical opinions and technology assessments, to develop specifications and to undertake technical due diligence and feasibility studies within multi-disciplinary project teams.
Specific duties will be tailored to the project requirements but the summary of responsibilities will be:
To support team leader and team members in the delivery of our obligations and internal project performance;
To work under their own initiative and as a specialist within a multi-disciplined team of engineers;
To work with clients and contractors in achieving a technical solution;
Successful delivery of projects to time, quality and budget;
Contribute to open communications across the project delivery, client and stakeholder teams;
Contribute to securing opportunity and repeat business through the high quality of your service delivery;
To follow CCS market developments. Candidate Specification The ideal applicant will have a degree in either chemical or process engineering and extensive relevant experience ideally with:
Technical capability in thermal power generation, knowledge of thermal power generation technologies and processes;
Knowledge of CCS technologies;
Relevant experience in power generation, coal gasification - IGCC, amine gas separation process;
Commercial awareness.
The persons appointed should be self motivated and with the ability to work within a team of qualified and experienced engineers. The appointees will have an excellent command of written and spoken English and the ability to communicate effectively in terms of gathering and disseminating information at meetings and conferences.
